The painting has begun

We have spent our first weekend painting at the house, as the gib stoppers havent finished their part we made a start on all the fiddly bits like the windows and doors and door frames.

The gib stoppers are going full steam ahead this week (after a reve up from our builder) and should be finished by this weekend. Which is lucky as we have organised a painting party to make a start on the walls this weekend - any help greatly received! *smile* . Its a huge job and although Paul has two weeks off work its too big of a job for one person to tackle in the short space of time we have - we really want to move back as soon as possible and the only thing holding us up is the painting.

Dinning room window - almost finished.

The lounge

The lounge is HUGE! Way Too Happy

It is so bright and airy since the doors were glazed and the gib has been put up.

4 months later...

We have been out of our house for four months and two days now
(not that anyones counting Happy )
The house is looking great, with the gib board expected to all be up by the end of the week.

The little inspector was bought a drill to help keep him entertained while at the house, after he left last weekend we discovered he had put his next to granddads... Circle Of Hearts
very cute!

The french doors have been delivered and were installed on Monday, they were glassed yesterday and look fantastic (photo to follow soon)
We had to source glass that looked the same as the window to the left. We managed to get the last in stock at the glass place that specialises in it. The bifold window.

Doors and Windows

We are still waiting on a couple of doors and windows to be made for us, we are having a bi-fold window made for the kitchen, yay, nice big window going out to the deck.

And french doors to go into the hole below. Its being made to look like the window next to it, we didn't want to change the look of the house, which is quite an expensive choice. It will be worth it though as the house will still retain the character we fell in love with.

The front door we bought off trademe for the super price has been installed.. we really like it! And then.. you open the front door to find our stained glass window. I think it looks fabulous.

View from the back...
Next stop gib boarding!
We had an inspection yesterday (the inspector from hell....) he was a total idiot and was hung up over something else that needs to be done from his last inspection (that has nothing to do with the house by the way) and was going to refuse to do this inspection, but dad sorted him out and he gave us permission to gib the inside walls but we have to wait till the french door and bifold door arrive before we can line the outside walls... *sigh* Oh well better than having the job stopped I guess.

Pink Batts!!!!

A special thanks goes out to Elaine, Bill & Phil for helping us with this horrible job in the weekend. We got all the batts in upstairs and downstairs in 4.5 hours.

We have an inspection today and then the gib can start to be put up.. yay! One step closer.
